Hi, my name is Olivia and I have just passed my final Medical School exams- yay!
I wanted to create this site because, frankly, I’ve found medical school tough. In fact, I think that most (if not all) medical students find it tough but they don’t want to admit it to each other. Despite doing another degree before medicine, I really struggled to find a way to effectively learn and retain what I needed to know, or indeed work out what it was I needed to know in the first place.
After two miserable pre-clinical years, I decided that I needed to get my act together and work out how I was going to complete the next three years and graduate. I therefore developed a two-pronged approach: written notes and videos of myself telling myself what was on those notes. This meant that I could return to them again and again; listen to myself explaining what I had written down, reading what I had written down, and adding anything else that I had learnt since then.
‘How To Pass Med School’ is my attempt to help other poor, tired, stressed out current medical students by passing on all my notes, videos, advice and general wisdom I have gathered over the course of my degree. I mostly concentrate on clinical medicine, but I hope to also eventually include pre-clinical stuff too.
I can’t promise that everything will be totally complete and accurate, but I passed medical school and this is how I did it…
